Chatters, Skeemers and Theobalds

"Gillian" has contacted me with this request:

My great-great grandmother was Caroline Chatters, she married Thomas Skeemer (my grandmother's grandfather).

My grandfather was a Theobald from a long line of Borley Theobalds who originally came from Lavenham and Cavendish.

Will share information on these families if anyone is interested.

Ince, Oakley and Jarmin families

Jack Ince has been in touch:
I moved to Thetford 6 years ago and started researching my ancestors 2 years ago at the age of 78.

I was sursprised to find that my roots on my father`s side were in Clare, going back to John Inch 1660 and Glemsford.

In Glemsford my ancestors go back to Jarmin Oakley 1773-1847 via his daughter Elizabeth1817-1881

Through Jarmin his father Samual 1742 who married Elizabeth the Jarmins..
Looking at the web I came across your web site.
I wonder if there are any Oakleys or Jarmins still living in Glemsford? I have about 300 on my tree but I come to a dead end around 1900.
Any information about your society any the Oakleys and Jarmins in particular will be most welcome.

As usual, if you can help Jack, please get in touch via me.

A Reader Marriage

Ann Roberts has contacted me:

Does anyone know of the marriage of a Susan or Susanna (born Glemsford circa 1791, maiden name unknown) who married Francis Reader (born Isleham, Cambs circa 1790), probably around 1809?

There’s no record of the marriage in the Isleham PR’s and I can’t find it on the IGI – although that’s obviously not to be relied on! Francis and Susan(na) settled in Fordham, Cambs and had 11 children there.

If anyone stumbles across this marriage or has it on their tree, I’d be thrilled to hear from you and happy to share information..

If anyone can help, I will pass on details.
