Ince, Oakley and Jarmin families
I moved to Thetford 6 years ago and started researching my ancestors 2 years ago at the age of 78.
I was sursprised to find that my roots on my father`s side were in Clare, going back to John Inch 1660 and Glemsford.
In Glemsford my ancestors go back to Jarmin Oakley 1773-1847 via his daughter Elizabeth1817-1881
Through Jarmin his father Samual 1742 who married Elizabeth the Jarmins..
Looking at the web I came across your web site.
Any information about your society any the Oakleys and Jarmins in particular will be most welcome.
As usual, if you can help Jack, please get in touch via me.

Jarmin Family
My 3rd Great Grandfather, James C. Jarmin (1825-1905), migrated to Ontario Canada from Glemsford by 1847. He came from a long line of Jarmins who lived in Glemsford. I would like to find out if there is any information on the Jarmin family in Glemsford. Here is a direct lineage of those who lived in Glemsford:
James C. Jarmin (1825-1905), m. Mary Benedict
James Jarmin (1796-1874), m. Sarah Greigly
Daniel Jarmin (1769-1795), m. Sarah ?
Roger Jarmin (1732-1799), m. Mary Shepard
Thomas Jarmin (1702-1780), m. Margaret Wordley
Thomas Jarmin (1656-?), m. Mary Newes
Anthonius Jarmin (1633-?), m. Mary ?
Thomas Jarmin (1599-?), m. Margaret Yeldham
Edmundi Jarmin (1567-1599), m. Anna Mower
Johes Jarmin (1544-1597), m. Alice Eliot
My great grandfather James Jarmin (1882-1976) was born in Glemsford. He was from a large family, but I believe they were split up when he was young and some were raised in an orphanage. I never knew why. His son, my grandfather Eric Jarmin was a church minister and his daughter Jane is my mother. Looks like our Glemsford Jarmins were involved in mat making and horsehair curling.
