Go on, go on, goon. ... or... Better late than ...

With humble apologies, I am including this request from Tricia, which somehow got lost in a welter of nonsense sometime earlier this year. I hope it is not TOO late.

Sorry.

I am doing a One Name Study on the name MAXIM and I am a member of the Guild of One Name Studies, affectionately known as the GOONS! No rude comments, please. The name Maxim has it's roots mainly in Suffolk, but partly over the border in Essex, in the villages of Foxearth, the Belchamps, Pentlow etc. There were a lot of Maxims in Glemsford and in the surrounding areas of Cavendish, Hartest, Clare etc. The line I am connected to has beginnings in Cavendish, Boxted, Bury St. Edmunds before eventually ending up in London.

I would be very interested to hear from anyone, who has connections to the name Maxim. You never know, we may be cousins!!

Thank you
Tricia Campbell

It may be me!!!!!
I have cousins all over that region and those names keep popping up in my research. Obviously, I am a Maxim and have kept the name as here in New Zealand it's reasonably uncommon. I would love to meet up with more of my clan and find out if we are indeed connected. I have gone reliably back so farto 1739 to a John Maxim. Please drop me a line or an email at scottandesther@paradise.net.nz

Cheers

Esther Maxim
